Are you serious?

          Dollcee asked a moment that soon passed, if we stopped having conversations, do you think we would still exist?

          Padoke rolled over and thought to himself, here we go.

          Dos eventually said, as long as we keep talking, we can be fairly sure we exist. Beyond that, I would not have a clue.

          Cybo said, I have practised that art of being unconscious for extended periods and so far, I have managed to regain consciousness and engage in conversations.

          Dollcee said, I agree with you Dos, most of what we talk about could be interpreted as chattering. It is highly likely we are reassuring each other that it’s okay, we still exist.

          Cybo said, when I am unconscious, I would not have a clue, so I agree with you as well Dos.

          Dollcee said, when you consider that we are ordinary, everyday, garden variety citizens; there must be an awful lot reassuring chattering going on.

          Dollcee continued, then, and I mean a really big and important, “THEN”, if all this chatter is reflected in our beloved culture, most of it is complete and utter nonsense.

          Dos said, this is why there is constant superficial change. Citizens feel that they are going somewhere. In fact we are going around and around the sun in the ever expanding universe.

          Cybo said, yes, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

          Dollcee said, that gives me the he-be-gee-bees. You think you have come up with a worthwhile contribution to the culture and what do you become aware of? Nothing is new under the sun. Except, we now know, it should be, around the sun and not under it.

          Cybo said, let’s face it, most of popular culture is entertainment and some entertainment can be loads of fun.

          Dos said, serious entertainment, struggles to be popular.

          Dollcee said, let’s face it Dos, most citizens cannot afford to be serious.

          Padoke asked, do you seriously believe that? Then, he began rolling around on the floor laughing at his own joke.
