Too cautious
Dollcee said, I wonder what would happen if you stopped believing in a lot of things that you currently take for granted.
Dos said, you could begin by doubting lots of things and selectively moving onto ceasing to believe in them.
Dollcee said, you can be too cautious sometimes Dos, but I do take your point. It probably wouldn’t be so messy if you initially doubted, rather than out right abandonment.
Dos said, it takes a lot of courage to abandon some long-held belief, even when it can be seen as completely ridiculous.
Dos went on, I have had to learn to forget some guitar playing styles to be able to adopt a new style because of physical restrictions and I am sure this can be the case with a broader range of issues.
Dollcee said, I agree, I am sure it is hard to overcome silly cultural beliefs and habits to develop a broader understanding of many things.
Dos said, well intentioned behaviour, maybe totally inappropriate in many circumstances.
Dollcee said, no wonder we call it existence. The journey can get so complex and it is so important to be continually adapting to circumstances to be able to exist.
Dos said, the worst thing I can imagine is being in a position where it is impossible to be able to compromise and being forced into a futile situation.
Dollcee asked, how would that happen Dos.
Dos replied, simple, be a citizen going about your business and then suddenly, the leaders of mankind, decide that they wish to start a war with some other citizens and you are forced into conscription. You can never change where and when you are born and this has been a death sentence for many through the ages.
