Dos said, this morning I was reading an article by a professor, who wrote, citizens mainly learn to do things through imitation.
Dollcee said, I am sure, I read in the news feed, that is how machine language develops. Most of what I know about machine language is from what I have read in the popular media feeds. I suppose most it is cobbled together from corporation hand outs and the goods bit go first.
Dos said, I wonder why they don’t make it up like we do, it is much quicker.
Dollcee said, the journos are probably not allowed to think up things and write what they like. They are probably told to write five hundred words and use these terms as often as possible. When you think about it, a machine could do that.
Dos said, I think the best thing about what we do is, we are normal ordinary citizens who make it up as we go. We do not claim to be some profit driven authority guiding the ignorant out of darkness into the light.
Dollcee said, here, here, Dos. No wonder no citizens take any notice of us, we are the mirror image of their normal, ordinary selves.
Dos said, back at the ‘learn through imitation article’. I am not sure all learning is done through imitation. I have noticed, if you wish to learn something quickly, it is best to imitate.
Dos went on, if machine language is all about imitating citizens and they adopt the behavioural traits of citizens, let’s hope that there will be some compassionate machines that don’t get intoxicated when making important decisions.
Dollcee said, I can see it now, the headline news feed for Machine News. Due to inherent problems of wastage and costs with citizens, they will be fazed out as soon as possible.
Dos said, that if intelligence is all about language, no problems, the language survives and the delivery service is replaced with a more cost effective and efficient system.
Padoke asked, do you think that the machines will want to have domestic dogs as pets?
Dollcee said, step aside you old hound, they may wish to keep some citizens as pets.
Dos said, I wonder why we get so carried away with trying to predict what the future is going to be like, when we are doing so well here and now. It couldn’t possibility get better than what we have now.
