Dollcee said, I was wondering if existence is like going up a set of stairs or is more like going around in circles.
Dos replied, you have some funny thoughts, Dollcee. That would never have crossed my mind to think of that. Now that you have put the concept into my neural network, it is going set the switches off and connect new pathways. I will get back to you.
Dollcee said, I didn’t think about it, it simply occurred to me. Sometimes I can figure out how something occurred to me, but in this case, I wouldn’t have a clue.
Dos said, after minimal neural activity, it is my opinion that our existence is circular. The planet spins and rotates and it is most likely, we go round and round as well.
Dollcee said, that is the musician in you Dos, always playing the turnaround.
Dos said, each turnaround can be very different and interesting in its own right, it is a good structural guide for whatever develops.
Dollcee said, I am all for turnarounds Dos, the rhythmic structure for everything to hang off. Dollcee said, I often wonder how long ago it was thought up. I am sure the cave musicians were seriously into turnarounds.
Dos said, the more my neural network becomes familiar with your concept of existence; being, going around in circles, the more comfortable I am with it Dollcee.
The idea of linear progress up a set of stairs seems like a futile pursuit, it sort of implies winning is important, when it is mainly a momentary thing and not important.
Dollcee said, in a way, it could be important how big the circle is and how long it takes to get back to where you think you started from.
Dos said, that’s it Dollcee, the bigger the circle the better. A thirty-two-bar turnaround can be a lot fun, but then again, so can a sixteen-bar turnaround or a twelve.
Dollcee said, I like the idea that you really can never get back to where you started out from, but you can remember where you think you started out from.
Dos said, the heart of music is the progression, but I am not sure whether there is such a thing as cultural progress.
