                                      Being insecure

Dollcee said, if you accept that language is the height of intelligence, then, that could go a some of the way to explain why citizens get confused and carry out horrid acts against each other. I am not making excuses for bad actions by making this statement; I am pointing out that there are serious communications problems occurring all the time, that are created by the use of numerous languages and lack of understanding amongst these languages and also, within these languages.

Dos said, there are professors from institutions that claim the next big thing with citizens will be about language or intelligence. They claim that to survive, citizens will need to belong to an organized group that will be based on a specific language or code and it will be how the group identifies its members through the use of that language or code.

Dollcee said, there is nothing new about that at all Dos, it is how groups have always operated. It is no different to the ability to distinguish citizens by their physical differences, as slight as that might appear to an outsider. What I am on about is, for survival of the species, it maybe, a case of having to adopt a universal language for all citizens of the planet. It only took a couple of generations to introduce most of the citizens of the world to universal education.
Dos said, which language would be adopted. Would it be devised by professors or would it be the dominant language at the time of adoption.
Dollcee said, there is the problem I was on about before. Most citizens cannot adapt to something like a language change because they believe they would lose most of their identity to everything and whatever. The most intelligent thing a citizen can do, is their ability to communicate and it will be their downfall if they lose their language. Your language is your identity.

Dos said, that is probably how dinosaurs survived as birds, they were not smart enough to fight amongst themselves.

Dollcee said, now you understand where I am coming from Dos. Citizens are too smart for their own good to notice what is right in front of them.

Dos said, do you think that it would be necessary to wipe the slate clean of most cultural beliefs and start again with common survival as the central part of everything and whatever.

Dollcee said, we accept that the nature of the universe is random activity and if we adhere to that, my guess is we won’t be around long enough to know whether we are aimlessly chattering away for the sake of it, or citizens really are capable of long-term survival.

Do you mean, you think it will be all over in our lifetime Dollcee, asked a very worried Dos.

Dollcee said, definitely not, I mean we won’t live for hundreds of years to see much change with the behaviour of citizens.

The Indigenous groups lost their language and their identity when they were overwhelmed by colonisers and that might be the price of survival. The problem is, adopting a language also means adopting a culture and that is where the scary stuff begins. There are some strange legacy cultural things out there and some even weirder stuff that is very recent. The digi-kidz are going to have some explaining to do, to those who follow behind.

Dos asked, do you think language and culture are inseparable?

Dollcee said, that’s it, Dos, they are the same thing.
