                                    The Cultural Glob

Dollcee asked no one in particular, do you think what we are doing is way beyond us and we are really a group of strugglers with ideas that are way beyond our abilities to act upon?

Dos answered almost before Dollcee had finished the question, of course we are.
We are a group of digi-kidz who have been brainwashed in a cultural system that is based on the premise of consumption of relatively accessible mass-produced products and it is all down to us. We are totally responsible for everything.
We are encouraged to use digital technology to make audio-visual content for practically nothing, in the hope that some marketing operation will notice us and turn our content into a pop culture product that can be sold for almost nothing by using scale of economies to generate a predetermined profit for big corporations. In our case, we don’t even make into the gig-slave economy.

The economic wheels turn and citizens worship whatever in the hope that they will be blessed with praise and shiny things that some slave has to polish.

Dollcee said, give me a moment to digest what you said Dos. After sometime, Dollcee asked, from what you said Dos, it all sounds futile, why should we bother?

Dos went on, I believe we are part of a culture that is like a big glob that flops and plops and appropriates all that it comes in contact with. It needs to constantly grow in order to exist. We are a small part of this ever-expanding glob and that’s about it.

When you stand on a high position in the open, you can see a vast panorama, but you can only focus on a very small part of that view. When we look at culture, we are doing much the same thing, standing back and looking at everything. However, we are only capable of focusing one small part of the culture at any time. It does not matter how clever you are or how much you know, your perception is limited, it maybe greater than the citizen standing next to you, but it is still limited.

Cybo had been tuned into the conversation, even though he appeared to be tuned out, he sang, I would rather be a content maker than a plumber, clearing shitty pipes, day and night, woo woo woo.

Dollcee asked, I wonder if we are wandering through the glob, focusing on different things at different times.

Dos said, that is exactly what we are doing.
