            The Citizen Artist

Dos began reading from a device, the past was a glorious time, when we were strong and heroes moved amongst us. The present is the perfect state to exist in, what more could a citizen hope for. The future is paved with troubles, take care, be aware, do not deviate from the present course.

Dollcee asked, what is that Dos?

I have been collecting sound grabs from Padokes’s television and re-constructing them as a leader of mankind’s speech to the constituents.

Don’t you think that you are misrepresenting the leaders of mankind, Dos, asked Dollcee.

No, responded Dos, I am refining what they say to make the message clear. The regular media edit what they say, all the time. It is all sound bites, but the regular media are not as careful as myself.

Dollcee said, the message you are implying does not sound encouraging for citizens.

Cybo said, the few times I have bother to tune into Padoke’s television, the message that      Dos has carefully extracted, sounds like the one that is continually broadcasted.

Exactly said Dos, I do not wish to misrepresent the leaders of mankind. I only want to make their message clear.

Dollcee said, from where I am standing, the message does not sound good for citizens.

Cybo said, I support Dos, for helping the leaders of mankind to articulate their message clearly.

Dollcee said, maybe I should listen a bit more carefully and not treat it like noise.

Cybo said, it is our duty as cultural painters and decorators to carefully look passed the cultural noise and glitter and try to identify any sub-text that helps to make sense of everything and whatever. The role of the citizen artist bears a huge responsibility.

Padoke remained in front of his television, but appeared disinterested.
