A dog’s joke
Dollcee asked, do you think devices are changing the culture Dos?
Dos was totally engrossed with something on his devices and didn’t show any recognition of Dollcee asking him a question.
Dos, said Dollcee in a more direct way, do you think devices are changing the culture?
This time Dos received the message, but he still fumbled and mumbled for awhile before responding, cultural is about what information is communicated within a defined boundary. I don’t believe the devices have changed the information, only the means of delivery.
Dollcee said, what about all the crazy stuff?
Dos said, I have tried on numerous occasions to determine whether there has been any change and it is my opinion that, it is impossible to determine whether there has been any cultural change. Some behavioural change may be happening.
Cybo whirred and stirred, I agree Dos, it is impossible to determine such a matter. It would be like sitting in a closed box and describing what is going on outside the box, simply guessing, not very accurate.
Dollcee said, the devices have always been around through my existence, so I have no experiences without them.
Dos said, because the devices are the only way many citizens receive information, I suspect that, at some time in the future, there will be some major disruption take place and the devices will be at the centre of it.
Dollcee said, that is a big prediction Dos, that is unlike you to make big forecasts.
Dos said, when culture is primarily a citizen’s perception of everything and whatever and that perception is dependent on information; how the information is broadcasted is central to who wishes to run the civilising of the citizens.
Cybo said, digi-kidz will probably be drawn into a terrible and protracted war over how citizens will perceive their existence.
Padoke turned and said to the other occupants of the little room in the universe, the battle for control of the signals, for the signals and by the signals. That is a dog’s joke, you may not understand it.
Cybo said, oh, I understand it all too well, we will get fooled again and again and many more times after that.
