Dollcee asked the little room in the universe, do you think we will ever run out of words?
Dos said, we can’t run out of words until we solve the great mystery confronting us.
Dollcee asked, which mystery is that one Dos?
Dos said, with a hint of exasperation, the really big one, what is everything and how did it come about.
We observe and take in information all the time and being media content makers, we are required to interact with it all and in turn present an interpretation of that interaction for an audience that we haven’t managed to locate.
Dollcee said, maybe if we should stop entertaining ourselves and imitate what everyone else in the media does. The problem is we would have to find out what that is first and then we might get lots of hits.
Dos said, I doubt if we would last long at it, because I suspect it would be totally boring and repetitive. We would have to report on media outlets reporting on other media outlets, reporting on themselves. Plus, we would have to be aware of all the known celebrities in the, ‘on the line universe’.
Dos went on, I would much rather be an unknown content maker that has fun, then, being a billboard for products that could possibility shorten your existence.
Dollcee said, no wonder citizens of the culture are not aware of neighbour cultural content makers, they don’t get to see what is behind the billboard.
Dollcee said, I think we should attempt to develop an ethical cultural noise cutter that will allow us to slice through the cultural billboards and allow the voice of ordinary neighbourhood content makers to be heard.
Dollcee went on, the big trouble for us is, we currently contribute to the very noise that silences us. Even if we had something really important to say, that no one else was pointing out, we would still be contributing to the noise that masks our very existence.
Dos said, at the end of the day, we really are not going to save the world from itself because we are only content makers of what is essentially entertainment. There are tens of millions of content makers out there, exposing themselves in total ignorance of how superficial most of the media really is. Self-generated entertainment is very popular in the, ‘on the line media’. It is a way to fill in the time when you don’t have much going for you. Let’s face it, we are a tiny little pulse in a big noisy culture.
Dollcee said, maybe that is the reason your grandmother supports us, so we have something to do that is a lot of fun and with don’t have to deal with the neighbourhood scumbags.
