Like Ourselves
Dollcee said, I had this thought that I know will never see the light of day, but I need to tell someone before it disappears forever, so, stand by for my thought Dos.
What I think would be really interesting, would be to get every group on the planet that believe they are a distinct cultural group, and get them to present their central cultural identity to each other. Then a nominated member from each group is assigned to analyse each presentation and identify all the similarities of each culture. The list of similarities should then be made available in every language.
Dos said, is that all, that is all you want from this mammoth undertaking. A list of common ideas to all cultures.
Dollcee said, yes that is all I want to know. It occurred to me that if you are aware of what all citizens share, it would make it easier to be a universal popular culture content maker.
Dos wore one of his vague looks and remained silent for some time, before he said, I think it is a really good idea and I agree with you, it will never see the light of day.
Dollcee said, I think the objection to it would come from the leaders of mankind. They would see it as undermining their ability to rally their followers through highlighting the fear of the unknown.
Dos said, I wonder how much content makers can get away with pointing out the bad elements of the leaders of mankind.
Dollcee said, I believe you can say what you like about the leaders of mankind, provided you only apply it generically. They will always assume it is meant to defame their opponents or competition, because they know that they are perfect.
Dos said, everything I have ever read about history, only refers to leaders of mankind, surely something else happened. I think we should take a stand and ignore them completely. We should focus on normal, ordinary citizens like ourselves.
Dollcee said, I will vote for that.
