Worries

      Dollcee said, I have a worry and I need to tell someone about it.

      Cybo said, go ahead Dollcee, I am available to listen.

      Dollcee said, it is impossible not to notice that some citizens are doing all sorts of things to alter their bodies and it is mostly beyond my comprehension. I do not understand and I am not curious as to why they have these procedures carried out on themselves.

      Cybo is a good listener and said, I agree with you totally Dollcee.

      Dollcee took in a big breath and said, now for my worry; if citizens have these things done to their bodies, are there citizens having alterations done to their neural networks?

      Cybo said, sorry Dollcee, your question flew straight over my head and hit the wall behind me.

      Dos was sitting behind Cybo and took the full force of her question; I believe that is the essence of culture, Dos said. That is, to feed information into the neural network and then, the citizen acts in a way that is a result of the processing by the neural system.

      Dollcee said, that is what I have been worried about. With all the best intention with our cultural content making, we have been engaging in neural network manipulation. Not that much different to tattooing, or even worse, we might be contributing to consciousness bulge implants.

      Cybo said, I can feel an attack of the hee-bee-gee-bees coming on. The last thing I want to do is play a bass line that leads a citizen to have an exaggerated consciousness bulge.

      Dos said, funny that, I have never made that connection before. Psycho-tatts, popular culture could enable citizens to have altered states of perception about all sorts of things.

      Dollcee asked, what do we do. Stop making popular culture content in case we suddenly get an enormous audience that take us seriously. Well, more seriously then, we take ourselves. What if some audience members commit cultural acts and claim they were inspired by us and the authorities are not impressed and they send a minister of religion around to investigate.

      Cybo said, golly gee-wiz, all along we thought we were only having some fun in a low budget little room on the vast ocean of our ignorance.

      Dos said, lucky that you alerted us to your worry Dollcee, we have some really big issues about what we are broadcasting to devices out there.

      Dollcee said, answers are easy, what sorts of questions are we going to ask ourselves?
