                                          Audiovisualism

Dollcee said, as I was about to go to sleep last night, a word entered my consciousness and I thought, I will try and remember that word tomorrow, but for now, I want to go to sleep.

          So here it is, audiovisualism.

Dolcee said, not bad, remembering a word like that.

Dos, asked, what does it mean, Dolllcee?

Dollcee said, I have no idea, I wanted to ask you what do you think we could make it mean.
Dos pushed back into his chair and you could almost see the question mark appear above his head. He remained like this for sometime with the imagined question mark floating above him.

Dos finally said, there has been three generations of citizens who have been born into a world of audio-visualization. The first and second generations were exposed to television, then the third to ‘on the line streaming’. This can make some citizens on the line start screaming. It is a normal urge for citizens to seek truth from what they are familiar with and audio-visiualization has become their truth.

Theatre pre-dates electronic audio-visualization, why should there be a difference between them, asked Dollcee.

Dos said, theatre and television are both definitely contrived, but theatre was never available at the flick of a finger and was local.

Cybo said, content making was restricted by cost with television. Through decades of market research, television developed a deep understanding of the citizens psyche and became very clever at attracting an audience and keeping it. Media empires adapted their model quickly. As we well know, content making has not only become very cheap to make, it is also very easy to make. The idea of a home-made celebrity has been promoted so much it has become a career expectation for the current crop of emerging citizens. This has made audiovisualism a religion, the opiate of the masses.

Padoke said, from where I lay on the floor in front of the television with the fleas, my guess is that audiovisualism is dependent on connectivity. There is a high chance, the real juicy stuff with be local. The content from citizens exposing themselves for the chance of fame will dominate for a long time to come.

Dollcee said, I declare the meaning of audiovisualism to be; a belief that citizens believe that other citizens on hand-held devices exposing themselves and acting like utter nutters are real and genuine and not actors staging the events to attract attention from some ulterior motive.

Dollcee said, that will do for a definition. We are becoming efficient at popular culture content making. Look out you major global corporations, the digi-kidz are arriving.
