The clouds
Dollcee asked, I am fully aware that this will never happen, but, if we got a commission to make some media content about a citizen that doesn’t exist anymore, how would we approach it?
Dos said, that would be an absolute mine field for popular content media makers. For a start, how would you refer to the former citizen that has ceased to exist.
Dollcee said, it couldn’t be that hard. There are eight billion citizens currently existing on the planet. That means that there are heaps of them terminating their existence all the time.
Dos said, if we got a commission, it would be personal. We couldn’t sing, there goes another one, like so many other ones.
Dollcee said, that would cheer citizens up, but I realised that it has to enhance the emotional response.
It would help to remind the present citizens that, the Dearly Beloved can still be seen and heard from a Flash Drive.
Cybo said, that’s it, “Forever on a Flash Drive”, but it could be more sentimental.
Dollcee said, it was not that long ago, it would have been, get your Loved One burnt on to a CD and have the memories forever.
Dos said, I once existed on a few floppy discs.
Dollcee said, now don’t get sentimental about your existence Dos, you are still with us.
Cybo said, it is all a bit ironic keeping memories. When the religions ran the planet and held a monopoly on carrying out the duties of heaven; the Dearly Beloved were eligible for a permanent place on a fluffy cloud, forever floating above the hard-working citizens. Now that mega big corporations have displaced the religions, they sell access to the cloud to store the memory of the Dearly Beloved.
Padoke said, not much really changes, those who control the clouds, control the planet.
