                                        Survival

Dollcee said, I am having doubts about whether it is possible to construct a solid-state neural networking system that can match the functionality of a small biological creature. It has occurred to me that we are approaching the survival of intelligence from a completely wrong perspective. For example, the culture shortens the existence of millions of laboratory rodents, when the answer might be to raise the consciousness of the rodents to the level of citizens.

Padoke said, have you considered that the laboratory rodents may have a superior intellect to citizens and they might also, have a different perception of existence.

Dollcee went silent and did not contribute anything more to the conversation.

Dos said, I have never had the opportunity to talk with a laboratory rodent, but I am sure it would be worthwhile in many respects. I doubt whether they would be interested in going to Mars only because they are small relative to citizens, because they would be dependent on the reliability of a support system built by citizens.

Cybo said, we have agreed that the universe is energy and how it is concentrated and configured, determines and distinguishes between things in the universe. However, a creature from this planet through evolution is dependent on this planet’s environment for autonomous existence. So, to get beyond this restriction, there needs to be a separation of the intellect from planetary dependence. There is a need for a more adaptive system with a humongous capacity.

Dos said, I think we restrict ourselves by trying to imitate ourselves, there is a need to be broader in our perspective. A possibility might be to start with a huge machine on the planet connected to space drones with different sensing functions that can explore, like the galactic telescopes are currently doing.

Cybo said, I can see that as a starting point, a massive intelligence machine connecting with slave drones could be a good development stage.

Dos said, I don’t think the intelligence is the issue, I think it is the sensors. What type of sensors and how do you get them to far off places and maintain connectivity. Laboratory rodents would be perfect for this function.

Cybo said, one of the truly wonderful aspects of being a cultural conceptionalist, is the fantastical results that can be dream up with nothing other than the random activity of a neural network.

Padoke thought, now that is an Olympic level of bollocks.
