Poxy Pixels
Padoke said, look at that, thousands of pixels switching on and off and what am I doing; I am looking at a television screen. At the same time, I believe I am watching a war being live streamed. Broadcasted from somewhere on the planet to here, on my television. Later on, I can watch the video highlights of the war on the regular news. What is the difference between a football game and a war on television? I suppose one has better color balance and more continuous action, where the war is dull and slow in comparison.
Dos said, what I find interesting is, before the audio-visual age, a couple of kings would take their armies out to some paddock and say, okay lads, go and kill as many of those other chaps as you can and be quick about it, I want to get home for dinner this evening. Then, a writer would pen some fabulous story about what transpired in the battle, especially the smell and the rivers of blood. A painter would get a commission to capture the King mounted on a horse riding to a dinner engagement. The football game concept was probably adapted from this ritual.
With cameras though, it is now about capturing the citizens right there, live in the battle. Their homes as part of the death and destruction with ambulances racing back and forth with the dying and injured.
Dollcee said, I wonder why a citizen would risk their existence to be exposed to some brutal outcome.
Cybo suddenly came on line and said, if you are a desperate, there probably isn’t much going for you. If you are supplied with plenty of intoxicants that totally confuse your neural network into being completely detached from your nerve sensors, then you would probably be unaware of what is happening around you, or even care for that matter.
Padoke said, look at those poxy pixels, sort of hypnotic, isn’t it.
