                                       Visual Images

Dollcee had been sitting motionless for some time, when suddenly she turned towards Dos and asked, which visual images prompt the strongest emotional responses?

Dos did something unusual for him, he responded immediately. I really would not have a clue as to what stirs the emotions within a citizen visually, but it is something I am extremely interested in from an audio point of view.

Dollcee said, I currently believe that all emotional responses are culturally learnt.

Dos asked, how did you come to that conclusion, Dollcee?

Dollcee made herself more comfortable and said, watch a movie and try not to think about it. This shouldn’t be hard, because movies are made assuming the audience will be totally passive. Each time you feel an emotional response, quickly determine what triggered it and go back into dumb receiver mode.

At the end of the movie try to recall what happened in the scenes you remember.

Dollcee went on, this is all formula stuff, not what we do as popular cultural content makers.

What interests me is a single image and how only a few strokes can have an impact on a citizen.

Dos said, exactly, the same thing applies in music. Why does something work in a particular way, when there is nothing obvious?

Dollcee said, I suppose that is why we do what we do, we are interested enough to want to know.

Cybo said, I don’t watch many movies, I have a low attention span.

Padoke asked, is that where the word ‘alas’ came from? A Low Attention Span.
