                                        The Grant

Dollcee began to doubt whether her voluntary work as an intergalactic art critic was her true calling. A conversation with Cybo had unsettled her.

She said to Dos, it has never really occurred to me before to want to travel to far off places. Since talking to Cybo about places that are not part of Western culture, I have been day dreaming about applying for a grant to investigate how to juxtapose cultures for artistic expression.

Dos said, if I was an artist seeking funds for a holiday, excuse me, I didn’t mean to say that.

Dos began again, if I was seeking funds to research a culturally diverse project; I would, devote my energy to the statement, so that, there would be enough funds to support several events to present the narrative highlighting the opportunities that have been made available by those who devote their tireless energy to the benefit of the greater community.

Dollcee said, Dos, I do not know whether there is a cure for cynicism, but you certainly need some of it.

Dollcee struck a pose. Expanding one’s consciousness to enrich the cultural tapestry draped across the social constraints that were inherited from the former administration, these funds will help to bring so many opportunities for the contemporary world of art overseen by the current administration.

Dos said, bravo! Dollcee, what an opening for a grant application.

Dollcee said, after the funding has been granted, there probably won’t be a big share enough share of it, for the artist to buy an ice cream. Let’s not get side tracked applying for grants.
