Cows and Horses
Dos asked Padoke, do you think it is possible to regain your senses?
Padoke responded, I think I understand your question Dos, but you need to consider it more carefully.
Padoke went on, as far as I understand, unless there has been no major change in you physically, all your senses are there to be accessed. It is more a case of practising how to apply them. The environment you exist in can severely dull them; I believe.
For example, because you spend most of your time listening and playing music, I guess your ability to hear is extremely good and highly developed. However, it would not be anywhere near as good as mine, after all, I am a dog.
I imagine your visual senses are in a terrible state. Your ability to smell, well, I don’t want to go there. Your ability to sense danger is non-existent. You exist in such a sheltered little world here; you would probably have to go back to your school days to remember what fear is.
Dos asked Padoke, do you think there is any hope for me beyond this little room in the universe?
Padoke replied, everything concerning the senses comes down to exposure or practice and if you continue to exist only in this little room, then you will have exceptionally good hearing for your species, but I believe you will be retarded in other aspects of what you are potentially capable of.
Padoke went on, I sometimes get depressed about being so far removed from the wolf stage of my evolutionary development and I want to venture off into the cold harsh wilderness, but I probably wouldn’t last five minutes.
Dos said, I am so set in my ways, I have no desire to go beyond the mini-mart.
Dos then asked Padoke, have you ever seen a cow or a horse?
Padoke answered, only images on the television.
Dos said, I really must get Dollcee to take me to the zoo, I think I would really enjoy it.
