Dos said, I have been reading some interesting articles by a professor who claims his institution has become an education tourism destination.
Pay the fees, get a degree, profit from education. The institution profits, not the students.
Every department must provide a profit every semester or be taken over by a department that can produce profits. The reader of history is now, who controls history, controls future profitability of the institution. Or is it, who
controls the future profit, controls history.
Dollcee asked, is that a reflection on what is happening with education or is education a business?
Dos said, are you inferring that education is only about immediate wealth and not about learning?
Dollcee said, I wouldn’t have a clue about the purpose of an education institution. I am only commenting on how the professor describes the education system he is part of. Anyway, what does this professor teach at this institution?
Dos said, he is a professor of Cultural Design. He advocates that the majority of citizens are at a lost since civilisation was adopted. The struggle to determine what to do now there is no need to go and hunt wild animals for food or gather fruits and stuff. The civilisers on the other hand are trying to domesticate and enslave these lost citizens to perform tasks in corporate world in order to create surplus value and subsequently, profits for themselves.
Dollcee said, I thought cultural design would be something to do with entertainment.
Dos said, according to him it is, civilizers believe everything is a commodity that can be bought and sold. Therefore, with mass production through mechanical means, citizens now have surplus value and it can be exploited to be sold or consumed through entertainment. The definition of entertainment is very broadly applied here.
Cybo said, a citizen’s existence can be seen as, sleep, work and relaxation. Evidently, most citizen’s existence is not clearly defined this way though.
Dollcee said, civilisation may have resolved a few minor problems, but it sure has created a lot of difficulties. Like, enslaving citizens in the pursuit of
surplus value. It is all a bit ironic, what started as some bright idea about
putting something away for a rainy day, has turned into mass enslavement.
Dos said, being digitol popular culture content makers, I was wondering if we could add cultural designers into our title description.
Dollcee said, I like that, we are really developing a name for ourselves, how about, popular cultural designers and content makers.
Dos said, we are developing a name, there is no doubt about that. It is a pity that nobody knows our name, except for us, of course.
