Cultural Refugees

Dos said, I was reading a story on the line about migration. The thing that is interesting with this story is, that it is not about asylum or economic migration, but cultural migration. It claims, citizens have adopted mobile devices to such an extent, they are picking and choosing cultural influences from all over the planet. Many are abandoning their own culture all together and migrating to other cultures without leaving home.

Dollcee said, you will have to give me a few moments to digest what I think you said Dos.

Cybo slowly emerged from his silence and said, I identify with cultural migration, I am a cultural refugee.

Dos suddenly lit up; it is starting to make a lot of sense to me. When I go to Mister Drainer’s mini-mart, I have to adhere to cultural rules or I would not last five minutes in this neighborhood. But here, in this little room I can adopt any cultural beliefs I wish. I will consult with you before adopting any cultural beliefs that maybe uncomfortable with my fellow content makers.

Dollcee grinned and said, now I get it, if I start playing a West African beat, then I am culturally migrating.

Exactly, said Cybo, why confine yourself to some dull cultural prison when all you have to do change your perception a little.

Padoke mumbled, next thing you will want to species migrate and become a dog.
