Micro Interests

A professor from an obscure institution that only exists in a chat group, claims that there is a self-generating code that is spreading through the culture like a virus.

He claims that citizens with multi-cultural backgrounds are at great risk of being misled because they tend to be less fearful of cultural risks.

The self-generating code targets micro-interests. Social media users are drawn to micro-interests.

Dos stopped reading the article and said, I think that I suffer from micro-interest behavior syndrome, also, known as MIBS.

Padoke said, I have never heard of MIBS before, it sounds really bad. What are the symptoms?

Dos went on, I don’t know any more than what I read out. I am sure I suffer from it, because I only do music.

Padoke said, music is really big, I don’t think it is micro, but you are totally consumed by it, except when you are not.

True, said Dos, maybe I will be okay. It could be more about taking an interest in something with little or no potential.

Dollcee said, I think micro-interests are when someone obsesses about something of little importance to try and make out that they are unique and therefore special, instead of being dull and uninteresting. I have heard on the bus commute, that they are called Forxs’n’Dorxs.

Dos went on, something else I thought about is, we are probably safe because we don’t do much SMU, because we are busy making content. If micro-interest is only endemic amongst SMU people, we probably won’t get the virus as bad as some.

Padoke asked, what are SMU people.

Dollcee responded, Social Media Users. You probably have heard of smusers and didn’t realize what they were are the same thing.
