Dollcee said, do you think there is any point in trying to influence perception within the culture, Dos.
Dos responded, as popular culture content makers, I think we should at least be aware of whether we are simply commenting on culture or whether we are attempting to influence culture.
Dos went on with his definition. Influence; now appears to mean that some celebrity is drawing attention to themselves with some product that they are getting paid to gyrate with. Influence appears to be a sales gimmick for some product being pushed by a celebrity.
Dos said, cultural influence is way beyond what we are capable of. Cultural commentary is our limit and no one is listening, so we are harmless digi-kidz having some fun.
Dollcee was not particularly interested in Dos’s ranting and went on, now responsible cultural content makers like ourselves should try to develop cultural concepts, so important information for the benefit of citizens can be presented in an easily understood format.
Dos said, it is interesting how language changes over time through internal cultural adaptions redefining concepts. Groups within the culture adopt words and misrepresent them, sometimes for very suspect intentions. A word can become fashionable for a while, then, become a cliches and get discarded by all through the fear of association.
That’s it, Dos, an important word can be diluted, and become a discarded cliche, Dollcee said.
Dos said, that is why we must continue on with our popular culture content making, we maybe ignored and invisible, but we must keep trying to understand everything and whatever and be prepared to admit our ignorance. Ignorance is bliss for a keen student of culture.
