Forxs’n’Dorxs

Dos said to Dollcee, as an artist.

Dollcee snapped back, don’t you call me an artist, I am a content maker. If I only made pictures, I would accept that definition. I am a drummer as you know and an intergalactic art critic, as well as an image mangler.

Dos said, I am sorry, please excuse my ignorance. Dos had pushed one of Dollcee’s buttons and he was not going to get away with a well-intention apology.

Look Dos, I would not usually bother with explaining the obvious distinctions between an artist and a content maker, however on this occasion, I will.

An artist belongs to the Age of Metaphysical Believers, when churches dominated the cultural world. Churches required appropriate decoration to adorn their buildings. These illustrations were used to let the subjects know where they fitted into the greater scheme of things and what would happen to them if they misbehaved. They could not read or write and depended on pictures for instructional information. That sounds a bit like how things are now, only it is videos grabs on the line, instead of pictures on the walls of religious buildings.

The Age of the artist finished when the modern states arrived and took over social politics or religion, whatever you wish to call it. Some say this point in history was the First World War. How many nice new Cathedrals have you seen built lately? The patronage from heaven has dried up, finished and so has the payments for instructional social behavior pictures. The artist painter’s moment in the great scheme is over.

Get with it, Dos, go outside and stand anywhere for five minutes and describe what you see.

No, don’t bother, I will explain. Social Media, that is what it is called.

Who is going to pay an Artist even a pittance, when millions of Forxs’n’Dorxs provide content of themselves that you can be used as carriers for advertising. Social exhibitionism has replaced Metaphysical Believing and therefore, the artist painter. For that matter, the artist who does other art things as well.

Are you waking up yet Dos, inquired Dollcee.

Hopefully the fashion will change before I get much older and the wealth controllers will come knocking on our door, saying we need content to keep the Forxs’n’Dorxs looking at our advertisements.

Dollcee stood up and said to no one in particular, but somewhere, very high up, tell me, you big time wealth controllers, what’s this message going to be, because we may not agree with it. We may choose to develop our own path forward.

Dos asked, do you think we will ever get an audience for out channel?
